MAC Cosmetics is partnering with ConsenSys to release NFTs on the Ethereum sidechain Polygon that use artwork by the late Keith Haring to support HIV/AIDS-impacted youth. The selection consists of 5,275 NFTs of three forms at different price details and rarities.
The Keith Haring pink NFTs will expense $25, and up to 5,000 will be minted. The blue NFTs will expense $150, and up to 250 will be minted. The yellow NFTs will be $1,000 just about every, and up to 25 will be minted. All three are animated illustrations that merge Haring’s artwork design and style with MAC lipsticks, working with assets certified by the Keith Haring Basis.
Keith Haring was an American artist who rose to fame in the course of New York’s graffiti art subculture in the 1980s. When he was diagnosed with HIV in 1987, he commenced generating artwork to distribute consciousness about the disorder. He died in 1990.

Johnna Powell, international co-head of ConsenSys NFT, explained to Decrypt in an job interview that the NFT launch is “100% give-again,” meaning that the entire purchase value of each individual NFT goes to the MAC Viva Glam charity. (But MAC will also pay out ConsenSys a payment per NFT sold.)
“Our key determination with ConsenSys NFT is to convey the following tens of tens of millions of people to MetaMask,” Powell said. On April 10, the MAC and Keith Haring NFTs will be out there to purchase working with a credit history card, and the NFTs will be shipped to the buyer’s MetaMask wallet.
All proceeds from the mint or major profits will go to MAC Viva Glam, a nonprofit fund shaped in 1994 that gives aid to HIV/AIDS corporations. Since its founding, it’s lifted around $500 million for 1,800 unique non-gains. Proceeds from these NFT gross sales will go to the Larkin Street Youth Expert services, Jasmyn, and the Ali Forney Middle.
Powell verified that 2.5% of all secondary OpenSea gross sales from the NFT assortment will go right to the Keith Haring Basis, which is focused to preserving the artist’s work, legacy, and giving care for these influenced by AIDS.
